Young Archie competition 2023 Finalist!

The Scots College is proud to announce that David Dickson (Year 11) is a finalist for the 2023 Young Archie competition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Students are selected from schools across Australia to showcase their best portrait.

 

David dedicated his portrait to his late grandfather. Someone he was close to and who looked after him, and his brother, when they needed it most.

It is an impressive work. The College wishes David all the best when the winner is announced in May. View the full story at the Art Gallery of NSW website.

William Elder

1927-2010

Mr Alan Elder was born in Scotland and migrated to Australia with his parents at a young age. He attended The Scots College for all his schooling, graduating in 1944. He played 1st XI Cricket and was a member of the College Cadet Unit. After leaving school Mr Elder studied accountancy and retained a life-long love of the College, especially the Pipes and Drums. Mr Elder never married, however the significant bequest he left will allow his Scots family to remember him through the Lang Walker Business Centre.
