Join the Next Generation of Educators at The Scots College

The Scots College is a proud member of the Teaching Schools Alliance Sydney (TSAS), a collaborative group of eight schools committed to redefining initial teacher education. We are looking for aspiring educators to join us through this unique, clinical residency pathway that bridges the gap between university theory and classroom reality.

The TSAS Clinical Model

Unlike traditional teaching degrees where practical experience is limited to short blocks, the TSAS program embeds you in our College community from the very beginning.

  • Immersive Training: You will be inducted into the ‘art and craft’ of teaching within a faith-filled, values-driven environment.
  • Mentorship: You will work one day per week alongside an experienced Scots mentor and teacher, in your specific area of study (Primary or Secondary).
  • Supportive Cohort: Study a full-time Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching (online and face-to-face) with a community of fellow trainees who provide mutual motivation and support.

Benefits for Interns

We invest in our future teachers by providing both professional and financial support throughout their degree.

  • Paid Experience: This is a paid, one-day-per-week role during term time.
  • Financial Support: The College provides a 50% contribution toward your non-CSP university fees.
  • Academic Excellence: Our program is delivered in partnership with Alphacrucis University College or the University of New England.

Who Should Apply?

This program is designed for:

  • School Leavers: Students looking to start a Bachelor of Education.
  • Career Changers: Professionals seeking to transfer into a Master of Teaching.
  • Visionaries: Those who want a transformative career in teaching that goes beyond the standard curriculum.

William Elder

1927-2010

Mr Alan Elder was born in Scotland and migrated to Australia with his parents at a young age. He attended The Scots College for all his schooling, graduating in 1944. He played 1st XI Cricket and was a member of the College Cadet Unit. After leaving school Mr Elder studied accountancy and retained a life-long love of the College, especially the Pipes and Drums. Mr Elder never married, however the significant bequest he left will allow his Scots family to remember him through the Lang Walker Business Centre.
