This Anzac Day, Thursday 25 April, The Scots College was well represented across Australia with boys paying their respects across a range of services and parades.
At the North Bondi RSL Club Dawn Service, a Year 12 student played the lament on the balcony to a large crowd that filled the streets of Bondi Beach.
Following the Dawn Service, 80 Cadets from the College participated in the Anzac Day March along Elizabeth Street in the Sydney CBD and later attended the NSW RSL Commemoration Service at the Anzac Memorial, Hyde Park by the Pool of Reflection.
The Scots College Pipes and Drums, who had recently returned from the 2024 Virginia International Tattoo the day prior, also joined the Cadets in the Anzac Day March in the Sydney CBD. The Band had over 110 boys participating, which also included ten boys who interrupted their Rugby tour in Queensland to fly back to Sydney in time to join the march. An amazing effort and display of commitment from these boys!
The remaining boys who were on the Rugby tour visited an Anzac Day Service in Burleigh Heads, Queensland where they paid their respects and laid a wreath.
Over at Ramsgate RSL in San Souci, The Scots College Brighton Preparatory School was well represented at the Anzac Day March and Commemoration Service. The Brighton Prep boys, alongside their families and Brighton Prep staff, paused to reflect on the sacrifices of past and present service men and women.
Years 11 and 12 boys also represented the College at the Rose Bay RSL Anzac Day Service and March. They helped deliver the address during the service and presented the wreath. During the address, the representative Year 11 student, delivered a beautiful statement of how the Anzac Day March was particularly special to him this year as he walked alongside his dad who humbly wore his medals.
The Scots College is proud of all the boys who, each in their meaningful way, paid their respects to the past and present service men and women whose contributions and sacrifice, maintain the safety and freedom of our community and country. Lest we forget.
