On Saturday 29 July at the 2023 Scottish Pipe Band Championships, Scotland, Scots Pipes and Drums A and B Bands enjoyed exceptional results. The A Band secured third place, against some of Scotland and the United Kingdom’s top juvenile bands. This may be the highest result Scots Pipes and Drums has ever achieved.

The B Band achieved an impressive seventh place overall – only one point away from the ‘top six’ prize list! The judges were extremely positive about the band’s performance. Well done boys!

These outstanding performances are a testament to A and B Bands’ passionate dedication, and Scots staff’s devoted support and encouragement.

Congratulations to Bandmaster, Mr Paul Hughes and College staff, Head of Drumming, Mr Christopher Johnston; Snare Drum Assistant, Mr Keith Tombs; Deputy Principal – Head of Senior Campuses, Mr Ryan Smartt, and, Pipes Tutor, Mr Aidan Bestwick, for guiding the boys towards this impressive achievement at the 2023 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
