The Scots College community is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Old Boy, Harry Kyle (’25), who is set to make his AFL debut for the Sydney Swans this weekend against Richmond.

Harry’s rise to the elite level of Australian Football has been nothing short of extraordinary. A talented athlete who grew up playing Rugby and Basketball, Harry only joined the QBE Sydney Swans Academy in Year 11 after successfully earning a place through a four-week trial.

During his time at Scots, Harry was recognised as a gifted all-round athlete, particularly through his dedication and hard work in basketball. While his natural athleticism was evident, it was his commitment to continually developing his skills and embracing new challenges that ultimately helped him reach the highest stage of Australian Football. He was a member of the Premiership winning Athletics team in 2024 and won the AAGPS Open Championship High Jump in 2025.

Since joining the Sydney Swans Academy in 2024, Harry’s development has accelerated rapidly. Selected by the Sydney Swans with Pick 14 in the 2025 AFL Draft, he quickly established himself as one of the club’s most exciting young prospects.

Harry impressed throughout his time in the Academy, placing in the top ten in the Telstra AFL Draft Combine, which caught the eye of scouts. Harry has continued his strong form throughout the 2026 Victorian Football League (VFL) season, including a standout 23-disposal performance across half back against Geelong last weekend, which earned him his AFL opportunity.

Harry’s story is an inspiring example of determination, courage and commitment – qualities that reflect the values nurtured within The Scots College community. From his time at Scots to the national stage, Harry has demonstrated what can be achieved through resilience and a willingness to embrace new opportunities.

His achievement also reflects the growing connection between The Scots College and the Sydney Swans, which provides exciting opportunities and pathways for Scots boys to pursue their own AFL aspirations and follow in Harry’s footsteps.

We congratulate Harry on this outstanding milestone and look forward to watching the next chapter of his AFL journey unfold with the Sydney Swans.
