Each year, The Scots College celebrates its students’ achievements at the annual Middle School and Senior School Speech Night awards ceremony. This day acknowledges boys who have excelled in their studies, served their community and showcased their fine Scots boy values and qualities.

Students are awarded various certificates, vouchers and traditional gifts for their outstanding dedication.

Through the generous support from past and current parents, Old Boys, their families, and the wider Scots community, the College continues to award its students with a number of unique prizes.

If you would like to contribute to a Speech Night award that acknowledges the outstanding achievement of Scots’ fine graduates, please follow the steps below.

The Scots College will work with the endowment family to select a trophy fitting of the award.

William Elder

1927-2010

Mr Alan Elder was born in Scotland and migrated to Australia with his parents at a young age. He attended The Scots College for all his schooling, graduating in 1944. He played 1st XI Cricket and was a member of the College Cadet Unit. After leaving school Mr Elder studied accountancy and retained a life-long love of the College, especially the Pipes and Drums. Mr Elder never married, however the significant bequest he left will allow his Scots family to remember him through the Lang Walker Business Centre.
